Affordable CD Mastering

We are often asked why we’ve chosen to offer Affordable CD Mastering instead of charging people a high end mastering studio rate for mastering their CD?

The answer is pretty simple. We believe that independent artists (and anyone in general that doesn’t want to spend thousands on mastering) should be able to have a first-rate quality product. We also believe in leveling the playing field in the music industry. Over the last few years, a number of resources have come out for independent artists to help promote and market their music and actually have a music career. This is an incredibly exciting thought! The problem, however, is that it is usually hard for indie artists to actually afford to get a professional quality, radio-ready recording to sell and promote. That’s where we come in! 48 Hour masters can make you a radio ready CD you can use to promote your music at your local radio station. Also our mastered file you receive in return, is of good enough quality to send to a CD duplication company to get multiple CD copies made, so you can distribute copies of your music. Good for promotion or giving to your family and friends as gifts.

The bottom line is that 99.9% of the artists out there don’t need to spend thousands on mastering. We even sent out a test email to some of the high-priced studios just to see what kind of response we got. The question was " How much should I budget for? so I know what it will cost me? How long to get mastered?"…The response?

"You should plan for about 6-8 hours per song. There is an industry saying that says, ‘It takes 1 hour to get it perfect, and another 6 to really screw it up!’ haha. So, that being said, I would plan on about 6-8 hours."

We wish that this was a cruel joke, but this was a very real response that we received from one of the "big name" high-priced mastering studios.
